Please save the date of Wednesday, September 28 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. @ St. Genevieve’s in Fargo for a press event and strategy session regarding the budget cuts that have been made to programs and services of the ND Department of Human Services (NDDHS) – a sharable invitation is attached. This event, convened by the ND Autism Spectrum Disorders Advocacy Coalition (NDASDAC), is designed to engage the media to hear the impacts of budget cuts (even as further cuts are being considered) on human service & support programs. A press release will be developed and sent to the media announcing this event and we anticipate a positive response, particularly from local news outlets. There was a similar event held in Bismarck in July that garnered some positive media attention.
The September 28 event is open to and inclusive of anyone who has been or would be impacted by budget cuts in services or programs funded in whole or in part by the State of North Dakota. The goal is to utilize the media to help tell that story so that the general public will recognize what these budget cuts mean to our friends, neighbors, relatives, to ourselves and our communities.
